I've got some explainin' to do...!

Even my husband questioned some of my clues, so here's the 4-1-1 on their significance:

Clue #1 ~ Pachelbel's canon in D Major:  German composer

Clue #2 ~ A Bavarian cream-filled doughnut

Clue #3 ~ Levi's jeans, invented by Levi Strauss, born in Germany.

Clue #4 ~ a BMW aka Bavarian Motor Works

Clue #5 ~ Ben Crenshaw putting on Bernhard Langer's Green Jacket after he won the Masters in Augusta, GA.  Langer is the most famous German golfer.

Clue #6 ~ My one word for 2012:  Adventure.  Hello???  For all the reasons in my (in)courage post and more, this year is shaping up to be a little crazy....

Clue #7 ~ Black, red and yellow crayons, the colors of the German flag.

Clue #8 ~ Lufthansa jet, Euros & a Metric Conversion chart; we'll need them ALL less than a month from now...

And all combine to explain The Year of Living Dangerously...!

She’s looking me dead in the eyes when she speaks, a gaze so deeply penetrating its intensity makes me want to look away…but I can’t.

“God is getting ready to do a work in you not possible when you’re living in your comfort zone,” she tells me when I confide my secret.  And to my concerns she says, “And He’s going to meet your husband and turn him inside out when he’s alone and questioning what in the world he’s doing.”

She speaks with such conviction and great assurance ~ a relative stranger! ~ but I want to believe her.  I do believe her. You see,

my husband and I have learned it’s not in the easy times we’ve grown spiritually, it’s during those difficult seasons of struggle…

…when we want to go back to “Egypt,” to the familiar; not because we liked it but because we knew what to expect.

At mid-life, an adventure has been given to us, a door not merely opened but flung off the hinges, and our only response is to step into the unknown.

I explain the rest of the story in today's (in)courage post, where I tie together the threads of this week's seemingly random clues.

Clue #8: Three for the price of one

I was surprised but thrilled late last night when my friend Susan posted a message to my Facebook wall putting together most of the puzzle pieces :).  I asked her to restrict the message to just "Friends" but she went ahead and deleted the entire thing before I could copy her answers to share how astute she was.  Her detective skills are impressive and if I never need a mystery solved, she's the one I'm callin' (not you, Tonya, Shari or McKt, though Beth was on the right track in Clue #2 and #7 ~wink~.)

Three final clues, much more obvious than the previous seven...with the full explanation coming a bit later today.

Thank y'all for sharing in the fun.  I fully realize blogging at times is self-indulgent and narcissistic, but it sure does help me process life sometimes.  And what's coming up will be much to process....... ;)

Pensieve's Big Tease ~ Clue #6: One word

Blogging has introduced me to a profusion of talented artists.  Whether they bend words or metal to their bidding, the world is a more beautiful place because of them.

To help ya out, I thought I'd keep the clues rolling today. 

Tomorrow, I'll dole out three more clues, and if it's any consolation, my husband even questioned today's earlier clue.  What can I say--y'all are smart.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing.  You wouldn't want me to just spoon feed it to you, now would you?

For the few poor souls who aren't intimately acquainted with cows who can stand upright on two hooves--but, bless their hearts, can't spell worth a darn--that's Chick-fil-A.

Here's why I'm so excited:

• I believe whole-heartedly in the brand. I'm sure I've eaten my weight-and-then-some in Chick-fil-A food, but let's not try to calculate that, mmmkay?
• Truett Cathy.  In a sense, I have the honor of working for one of the most remarkable and respected businessmen of all time.  If anything, that's an understatement.
• The challenge of a newly-created position.  Mitch Collins, Operator for Gunbarrel Pointe since its opening, and more recently also for Chick-fil-A at Hamilton Place, now has the capacity to accommodate increased outside sales. When I learned he was looking for a self-starter with a marketing background to develop the position, I jumped! Mitch and I share the same sales philosophy--it's all about cultivating relationship and delivering excellence.  Gosh, that makes me happy!
• Flexibility.  My role as business developer will require about 15 hours/week, a dream job for me--I'm a Raving Fan of the product, I like the people who work there (a lot), and the limited hours allow me to continue writing and working with Pensieve, (in)courage, Therapon Connect, Story Bleed and Simple Mom; and to offer social media consulting and to seek blog-related opportunities (I'm working on a fantastic Chattanooga offering, soon TBA!)
