Blogging has introduced me to dozens of brilliant artists, those who
breathe life and beauty into words...
bend metal, paper and wood into precious treasure...
compose and capture memories and moments....
and many, many more.
I'd wager none of them is compensated commensurate with their talent.
After spending a few hours at Chatty Crafty's Holiday Show talking to crafters and oogling (and in some instances buying) their handmades this weekend, I really want to make more of an effort to support them. It's so easy to fall into the allure, convenience and cost savings of big box stores, but I really want to support the gal or guy who's livin' their dream and pouring everything they have into their passion.
And my creative wannabe-ness is off the chart. Newest item on my Bucket List? To own and operate an Etsy shop. Once I figure out what I'm gonna make and sell, I'll be sure to let you know.
