A box of Crayolas, colored pencils and a stack of coloring books...a little girl's whimsy, right?
Well, sort of...In response to March's Creative Challenge at (in)courage, my daughter and I sat across from one another at our kitchen table and colored and talked and laughed and listened to Jason Mraz, John Mayer and their friends on Pandora.
This is my son's sad, tired, pitiful best photograph of us; I cropped out the very large trashcan he captured in the foreground. He thought it was funny. I didn't.
I learned a few things during art class; namely, Rachel is a much better colorer than me! She looks all "who me?!" with her picture but she knows it, too. I like that she signs and dates her pages, apparently a practice she's continued for years.
Notice I choose Cinderella multi-tasking like a mother (not to be confused with "multi-tasking like a mutha" which is either very similar or very different but at the moment I can't tell which).
That's exactly what I look like when clearing our dinner table.
The Princesses had to share billing with Hello Kitty; is there anyone on the planet who doesn't love HK? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU??
It's such a joy to visit those who take part in the Creative Challenges at (in)courage and I'm grateful Holley and Stephanie encourage our creative community. A bit later, I'll announce the winner of a $25 gift card to the (in)courage shop and I hope you'll consider taking part in April. A little bird told me we *might* be writing poetry again!
:)
