Almost 22 years ago while I was honeymooning, I saw The Biltmore Estate for the first time.
Extravagant.
Impressive.
Magnificent.
Gargantuan.
French Renaissance-ish
Twenty-two years later it's all those things and more. Additional rooms have been restored and opened for public viewing; its winery, housed in a converted, once-functional dairy barn, offers daily tastings from a selection of Chardonnay, Riesling, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot; the Inn on Biltmore Estate provides guests an opulent glance of how the Vanderbilt's once lived.
When Kelby mentioned a tour of Biltmore Estate was a large portion of the Asheville Bloggers' Tour, I knew I had to return. My Whrrl story below will whet your appetite for a visit of your own, but I promise you even the best of words or pictures only begin to paint its beauty and expanse.
